Did You Know?

California uses 12.3 million gallons of groundwater a day (mgd) for all purposes, 2.8 mgd for public water supplies, 1.42 mgd for individual households through privately owned wells, 8.7 mgd for agricultural irrigation, 2.6 mgd for livestock and aquaculture, 4 mgd for industry (self-supplied), 24.1 mgd for mining and 33 mgd for thermoelectric power generation.
